Mr. Roche

Hello my name Ed Roche, I teach mostly Middle School Health and some PE. A sample of some units covered in Health are; "What is Health?", "Values, Goals, Decisions", "Social Skills - Second Step Curriculum", "Communicable and NC Disease", "DAT - Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco", "Body Systems", "Human Reproduction - Sex Ed." and more.  The mission of Middle School Health is to create awareness, understanding and action where students practice healthy lifestyles and decision making that promotes growth and healthy futures.

I have a Health, Physical Education and a MS Science license and a masters in education. I grew up in S. Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School. I began teaching in 1998. Previously, I taught 10 years of HS Health and PE at Washburn and Southwest High Schools, coaching baseball and football too.  I've coached baseball the past 20+ years including the Anthony baseball team.

My kids have attended Anthony and I can attest to the great learning and teaching that goes on here.  I've been really impressed by the kids at Anthony who come here ready to learn and work hard.  I look forward every year to working with the Anthony Community and teaching your great kids!

I post scores, missing assignments and grades on the parent portal discovery gradebook system.  Please check your child's progress regularly.  As a parent I found this to be a great way to track my kid's porgress and keep their grades up.  You are also able to receive information from your teachers more frequently and respond back through the parent portal.  If not on the portal, please call and we can help you get on. All kids have access to the student portal to check grades, progress and missing assignments.

If you have questions, you can email me at edward.roche@mpls.k12.mn.us or call me at 668-3240.
