Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

What I liked: Carter and Sadie have the same smart-alec spunk and sense of the absurd as Percy Jackson. I liked learning some of the Egyptian mythology. (I already knew some of it, so I can't tell you how easy it is to understand if you don't know anything about it.) What I didn't like at first, but ended up thinking that it did make for a better story: I got really confused and annoyed at first because it skips back and forth between Carter and Sadie narrating. It took some getting used to and the "voice" of the characters wasn't different enough in the beginning of the book to instantly make it clear who was talking. Eventually, it became clearer, and I got used to it. I would recommend paying careful attention to the chapter headings at first. A fun story!  The next one is equally fun.  Bring 'em on...
