"Tears of a Tiger" by Sharon Draper (click for my reactions)

Whoa! A pretty powerful book. I liked the style- it is all dialogue and soliloqy which makes the characters seem real. I could picture students that I have known as the characters in the book. It is really sad, so be prepared. It was like watching a car accident in slow motion- you knew something bad would happen, but you couldn't stop it. I liked how real it was. I also liked the discussions on race- they seemed very honest and made me think about some things I hadn't thought about. You will cry.
