Catherine McGehee, ELL Teacher

Hello, students and families! I am excited to be at Anthony Middle School for the 2017-2018 school year. I teach ESL (English as a Second Language), and I co-teach 8th grade Science with Mr. Michaletz and 7th grade Individuals and Socieites with Mr. Glewwe. Co-teaching is when two teachers teach a class together. I work with my co-teachers to make classes engaging and accessible for all students.

This is my fifth year teaching at Anthony. Before I taught at Anthony, I lived in Thailand for a year and taught ESL to elementary and high school students. I attended University of Wisconsin-Madison for my undergraduate years, and I graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul in 2015 with a master's degree in ESL.

This summer, I got married and changed my last name from Forst to McGehee. My wedding was on the North Shore of Minnesota, where my husband and I love to go hiking. In my free time, I like to travel, camp, hike, exercise, and spend time with friends and family. I look forward to learning about my students' interests and backgrounds and using this information to engage them in the classroom. I'm looking forward to a great year!
