Ms. Korb

My name is Carla Korb. I teach Visual Art. I've been teaching in Minneapolis since 1982, The first 14 years of my teaching I worked in Special Education with students having significant Developmental Delays. I 've been teaching art since that time. I have had the bulk of my teaching experience with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I enjoy those years when students are growing and changing the most. 

I attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon,  Iowa earning a triple major in Art, English, and Theater. I went to Indiana University earning a K-12 teaching licenes in Visual Art. I came to the Twin Cities and earned a Special Education licennes fromThe College of St. Thomas and a Masters in Teaching from St. Marys.

I continue to work in my home studio where i paint, draw, and create stained glass pieces on comission.

Drawings of mine have appeared in the classrooms area of the Minneapolis Institute of Art on 4 occassions and i continue to study as part of a drawing in the galleries class taught at the Mia.

My other hobbies are gardening, reading and creating hand made gifts from the kitchen.
