Socrates in Love by Kyoichi Katayama

My step-daughter brought this home from Japan, where it was a textbook in her "Japanese Culture" class.  It is very popular among Japanese students.  It really tugs at your heartstrings and there will probably be a tear or two.  I particularly loved the relationship between Saku and his grandfather. Aki is a really neat and interesting character.  It also gives you a glimpse into what life and school is like in Japan.

(Parents: if you ever read or saw the movie "Love Story", this is kind of like the Japanese version.)
