Stupid Fast (and sequels) by Geoff Herbach

The author was the keynote speaker at the 2014 Young Author's Conference. I was impressed with his clever and funny insights into adolescence and bought this book. I loved it! I have seen his style compared to Sherman Alexie and think that had some validity- it is that same black humor that talks about dark things in a real, yet funny way. Felton's life is hardly a fairy tale, but Felton seems like a kid you would enjoy hanging out with.

I would definitely recommend this book for girls to get a valuable insight into boy brains. The stuff we have to deal with physically, socailly and emotionally is different than what boys deal with (surprise!) This book (from conversations I have had with male friends reminiscing about being a teenager) pretty much nails what boys experience.
