Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I really unique view of WWII. Tells a lot about the daily life of Germans during the war. Liesel's best friend is in the Hitler Youth and the family has trouble getting enough to eat. One of the things I like best is that it does reveal the struggle ordinary people faced. One question people usually ask is, why didn't more people stand up? Did everyone think Hitler was right? This book reveals how difficult rebellion is, but how little things can be a statement against oppression.
