The Extraordinary and Unusual Adventures of Horatio Lyle by Catherine Webb

This was an enjoyable book. I can't really say any of it was realistic, but it was a ton of fun. Horatio was a good character, but I really liked Tess, the orphaned master thief, who ends up becoming his sidekick. I also liked his dog, Tate, who had a definite personality. The science was interesting- it played with some ideas about magnetism and electricity in ways that were very advanced, but at the same time made sense.

I plan on reading the next two books in the series, just to find out what happens to this group of interesting misfits!
