The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

I have liked each one of Kelly Barnhill's books a little bit more than the previous one, but I LOVED this book! I know Kelly as a friend, but I don't think that has anything to do with me loving this book. I really like the way Kelly crafts her characters who are children. They are complex and thoughtful. The details of the story were amazing!

For me the best part about the story was the way all the loose ends and little details came together in the end, all wrapped up and tidy. Something early on that didn't seem very signficant was revealed at the end to have a greater meaning. Very clever!

This book would definitely benefit from a re-read, but I had someone waiting to read it, so I have already passed it  on!
