Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

This was total fluff, but it was very enjoyable fluff. I read the first two books so far and liked them a lot. It is in a style called "epistolary" which means it is all in the form of letters or diary entries. Mia is very likeable and a good example when we talk about "voice." Mia really sounds like a teen-age girl who is a bit nredy, struggles with math, has a scatterbrained mom and a bossy best friend and cares about the environment. I think a big reason I liked this book was that Mia sounds so real.

No, I haven't seen the movie, but after reading the books, I really want to!
