"Warriors Don't Cry" by Melba Patillo (click here for my reaction)

I think I was naive. I guess I thought that once the federal government forced integration, that it was kind of over. I didn't realize how long the racial tensions continued. Melba faced death threats, harassment and abuse every day. After reading this, I have more admiration for what they accomplished. I doubt I could have stuck it out the way she did. I especially like the stories about people who helped. Great book. Would really help with a history day project.
