Greetings, families!

I am excited to be your 6th grade Language Arts teacher this year!  I have been teaching English/Language Arts since 1999 in Minneapolis.  I graduated from St. Olaf with majors in English and German.  I continued on to the University of Minnesota for my Masters in English Education.

As you can guess, I love to read and look forward to enjoying the journey of reading with my students.  When I am not reading and designing curriculum, I like to travel, camp, hike, garden, cook, knit and spend time with my husband, two boys and our new puppy.

In our class, we will be improving our communication using critical thinking and language skills to read, write, speak and listen every day.

This year, our third and fourh hour classes will also be taught with Debi Moravetz.  She teaches ALD (Academic Language Development), and we co-teach, which is when two teachers teach a class together. We work to make classes engaging and accessible for all students.  This is her seventh year teaching at Anthony. Before she taught at Anthony, she taught at Whittier Elementary School.  She enjoys running, travel, trying new foods and hiking with her dog and husband.

Please feel free to email or text me at any time:
